JOHNSTON — A 16-year-old boy reported missing in Johnston has been found safe, police said Tuesday.
Jesus “Joel” Ortiz was located after the Johnston Police Department issued a public alert seeking assistance in finding the teen.
Authorities did not provide details on where or when Ortiz was found, but expressed gratitude for the public’s help in spreading the message about his disappearance.
Ortiz had last been seen wearing a black sweatshirt, white undershirt, black pants, and grey and black Nike sneakers.
Police had said he may have been spotted in the Broad Street area of Providence.
The Johnston Police Department thanked the community for their cooperation in the search effort.
