Pittsfield woman hospitalized after Route 100 crash

PITTSFIELD — A car accident on Vermont Route 100 led to non-life-threatening injuries for a New York woman on June 25.

Evelyn Lanza, 55, of Poughkeepsie, New York, lost control of her vehicle due to a medical event and struck a utility pole at around 3:54 p.m., according to Vermont State Police.

The crash occurred near the intersection with Timberline Dr under clear skies and on dry roads.

Lanza, who was wearing a seatbelt, was driving a 2022 Honda Pilot which sustained significant front-end damage.

Emergency responders transported her to Gifford Medical Center for treatment.

Vermont State Police, assisted by Pittsfield Fire Department, Green Mountain Power, White River Valley Ambulance, and Duprey’s Towing, responded to the scene.

The incident is still under investigation.
