BOSTON — Boston police officers arrested a male suspect in a domestic violence incident involving a firearm in the city’s Mattapan neighborhood, officials said Tuesday.
The arrest, made by officers from District B-3, underscores the dangers police face when responding to domestic violence calls, which are among the most perilous 911 dispatches, according to the Boston Police Department.
Authorities did not release details about the suspect’s identity or the specific charges filed.
The incident occurred in Mattapan, an area covered by the B-3 police district.
The Boston Police Department emphasized that resources are available for those experiencing domestic violence.
In emergencies, individuals should call 911.
Several local organizations offer support for domestic violence victims, including the Asian Task Force Against Domestic Violence, the Association of Haitian Women in Boston, the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center, Casa Myrna Vasquez, and the Massachusetts Alliance of Portuguese Speakers.
The police department assures anonymity for those reporting domestic violence incidents or seeking help for victims.
