CRANSTON — Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a stolen vehicle that evaded capture after striking a police cruiser.
The vehicle, reported stolen around midnight Monday in Raynham, Mass., was detected by a license plate reader system in Cranston at approximately 4:16 p.m. today.
A Cranston police officer attempted to pull over the vehicle, which contained two occupants, on Elmwood Avenue.
The driver refused to stop and fled into Warwick, where it struck the officer’s cruiser at the intersection of Manson and Warwick Avenue.
The suspects managed to escape, and the vehicle was last seen traveling on Norwood Avenue.
The police cruiser sustained minor damage, and the officer was not injured.
