BOSTON — At about 8:56 a.m. on Thursday, June 20, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) arrested Kayla Fain, 34, of Boston, on drug trafficking charges.
Officers were in the area of Massachusetts Avenue and Albany Street addressing ongoing community complaints of individuals engaging in public drug and alcohol use.
Officers’ attention was drawn to a female individual who was walking back and forth in the area, continuously huddling with different groups of people.
Officers observed the individual walk away from the group with another female and use an electrical box to shield themselves.
Officers exited their cruiser and approached the females, and one immediately placed a plastic bag in her waistband.
Officers removed the plastic bag and observed it to be containing illegal drugs.
Officers began to search the suspect and recovered multiple plastic bags from the suspect.
The plastic bags were later determined to contain 13 grams of fentanyl and 25 grams of cocaine.
Officers also recovered $217 in U.S. currency.
Fain was placed under arrest and charged with trafficking of Class A and trafficking of Class B.
She is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
