Hingham man charged with enticing minors at Bathing Beach

HINGHAM — A man was arrested Monday for allegedly attempting to entice two children under the age of 16 into performing a sexual act at the Bathing Beach, according to Hingham Police.

The incident, which was reported to authorities on June 13, led to a swift investigation by local officers.

Police said two juveniles claimed they were approached by the man who solicited them for sexual conduct.

Through investigative efforts, Hingham Police identified 27-year-old Benjamin Hirtle as the suspect.

Hirtle, who currently has no permanent address, was apprehended on June 18 after an arrest warrant was issued.

Hirtle faces two counts of enticing a child under the age of 16.

Following his arrest, he was processed at the Hingham Police station and later appeared for arraignment at the Hingham District Court on the same day.

The case remains under investigation.

They urge anyone with information related to the case to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
