PROVIDENCE — Rhode Island law enforcement agencies made multiple arrests on June 20 in a coordinated effort to crackdown on various crimes, resulting in the apprehension of individuals on charges ranging from possession of child pornography to delivery of controlled substances.

Elias Pessoa-Cabral, a 20-year-old resident of Warren, was arrested by members of the Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force for possession of child pornography.

After being processed at the Middletown Police Department, Pessoa-Cabral faced arraignment at the Second District Court.

Justice Houlihan set bail at $5,000 with surety, imposing conditions including no contact with minors and limited internet access.

Pessoa-Cabral is also being held as a Superior Court probation violator.

On the same day, the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force apprehended Oswal Sanchez Figueroa, also 20, from Providence, executing an arrest warrant issued by the Pawtucket Police Department.

Figueroa faces multiple charges, including felony assault, drive-by shooting, discharge of a firearm during a violent crime, carrying a pistol without a license, firing in a compact area, and conspiracy.

Figueroa’s capture occurred without incident, and he was subsequently turned over to Pawtucket Police officials.

Additionally, Erin Burton, 58, of Cranston, was taken into custody by the Violent Fugitive Task Force on an arrest warrant from the Providence Police Department for the delivery of cocaine and fentanyl.

Like Figueroa, Burton was arrested without incident and is now in the custody of the Providence Police Department.
