COHASSET — A Halifax man was arrested Tuesday after a motor vehicle crash at a Dunkin Donuts on King Street revealed a large quantity of cocaine in his pickup truck.

Cohasset Police officers responded to the scene around 8:45 a.m. after receiving reports of a pickup truck colliding with another vehicle in the drive-thru.

The truck’s operator, later identified as 28-year-old Alex E. Neumeier, was reportedly experiencing a seizure, with the vehicle’s tires spinning while in gear.

Bystanders managed to secure the truck in park before police arrived.

While rendering aid, officers found a crack pipe and other drug paraphernalia around Neumeier.

Paramedics from the Cohasset Fire Department treated him and transported him to South Shore Hospital.

Further investigation by Cohasset detectives uncovered a substantial amount of white powder, suspected to be cocaine, inside Neumeier’s vehicle.

Neumeier was arrested at the scene and later booked at Cohasset Police Headquarters.

He faces charges of trafficking in Class B drugs over 100 grams, OUI – Drugs, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Following the arraignment at Quincy District Court on June 20, Neumeier will be held at the Norfolk County House of Correction.

A dangerousness hearing is pending as detectives continue the investigation into the incident.
