COLCHESTER — On June 20, at approximately 7:31 a.m., Vermont State Police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Interstate 89 resulting in minor injuries and significant vehicle damage.
Panagiotis Lekkas, 46, from Grand Isle, was driving a 2018 RAM 1500 when he rear-ended a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado HD driven by Evan Paradis, 25, of Richford.
According to the investigation, Lekkas was following too closely in traffic congested due to a previous unrelated accident.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the incident.
While Lekkas did not sustain injuries, Paradis suffered suspected minor injuries.
The RAM 1500 incurred heavy front end damage, and the Silverado HD suffered heavy rear end damage.
Traffic on I-89 was reduced to one lane as McRae Truck Auto service worked to clear vehicle #1 from the roadway.
