Cornwall man faces charges after brandishing firearm, disrupting traffic

CORNWALL — A Cornwall man was arrested after an incident involving a firearm that disrupted traffic on Vermont Route 30, authorities said.

Vincent Gardon, 46, of Cornwall, is facing charges of unlawful mischief, disorderly conduct, and recklessly endangering another person after the altercation that occurred on June 19.

According to the New Haven Barracks, troopers responded to reports of a suspicious person near the intersection of Vermont Route 30 and Swamp Road around 5:36 p.m.

Investigation revealed that Gardon had brandished and discharged a firearm on the shoulder of the road and obstructed traffic by standing in the roadway while waving the weapon.

Gardon was apprehended and subsequently released with a citation to appear before the Vermont Superior Court – Addison Criminal Division at a later date.

No injuries were reported following the incident.

The case remains under investigation.
