SOUTH WINDSOR — In a series of arrests over the weekend, South Windsor Police Department took into custody individuals on charges ranging from failure to appear in court to larceny and evading responsibility.
On Friday at 10:35 a.m., Jovanne A. Guzman, 34, of Springfield, Massachusetts, was arrested on an active warrant for first-degree failure to appear.
Guzman, who was originally arrested in March last year for a December burglary on Rye Street, failed to show up in court.
He was apprehended in Springfield, processed at SWPD, and held on a $30,000 surety bond.
Guzman is set to appear in Manchester Superior Court today at 9 a.m.
The following day at 4:56 p.m., Kyle A. Thompson, 34, of Manchester, was arrested during a traffic stop near Route 5 and I-291 for second-degree failure to appear.
Thompson posted a $350 surety bond and is due in Hartford Superior Court on June 21 at 9 a.m.
Early Sunday morning, at 1:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of a vehicle that had struck a telephone pole on Route 5 and Ellington Road.
Nathan P. Fox, 36, of Stafford, was later found at Johnson Memorial Hospital.
Investigation revealed Fox had been using his cell phone while driving.
He received a misdemeanor summons and is scheduled for court on July 1 at 9 a.m. in Manchester.
Later Sunday evening, at 8:30 p.m., SWPD arrested Steven A. McDonald, 55, of Danielson, for sixth-degree larceny related to a March theft at Stop & Shop on Ellington Road, where he reportedly stole merchandise worth $132.98.
McDonald, apprehended by Windsor Police and transferred to SWPD, was released on a $10,000 non-surety bond and is slated to appear in court on July 3 at 9 a.m.
