COVENTRY — Three Springfield, Massachusetts residents were arrested in connection with an armed assault and robbery in Coventry, resulting in non-life-threatening injuries to two men.
Randall Davis, 19, Mohamed Hussein, 17, and Jadis Arnold, 16, face charges of assault and robbery with bodily injury and aggravated assault after an incident that prompted an extensive manhunt and a shelter-in-place order for residents on June 16.
Vermont State Police received a call at approximately 12:52 p.m. about a dispute on Spencer Hill Road involving firearms.
Keith Jacobs, 42, of Coventry, and Herbert Jacobs, 72, of North Troy, were found with injuries sustained from an assault by firearms.
While evidence of shots fired was found, no gunshot wounds were reported.
The suspects, allegedly armed and in possession of stolen firearms, fled toward Blake Road, leading to a coordinated search by state and local law enforcement agencies, including the Newport Police Department, Orleans County Sheriff’s Department, U.S. Border Patrol, and others.
Hussein was apprehended in a riverbed, while Arnold led officers on a chase into the woods.
Davis was arrested on Maple Ridge Road.
The pursuit involved K9 units and specialized State Police units and concluded around 4:30 p.m.
All three suspects were held without bail and are due to appear in the Criminal Division of the Orleans Superior Court today.
