SPRINGFIELD — Springfield Police officers arrested a local man on Thursday for allegedly violating an abuse prevention order and making false reports to law enforcement.

The incident occurred around 3:19 p.m. when Officer Guzzo and Sergeant Fitzgibbons, while patrolling Valley Street, identified a black Toyota Tacoma driven by Christopher Call, 24, who was suspected in an earlier case.

According to the police report, the officers observed what appeared to be a passenger attempting to exit Call’s vehicle quickly.

Upon further investigation, authorities determined that Call was in violation of an abuse prevention order issued in New Hampshire, as the passenger in his vehicle was the protected individual named in the order.

Call was also accused of providing false information to police officers.

Call was apprehended at 3:39 p.m. without resistance and has been charged with violation of an abuse prevention order and false reports to law enforcement authorities.

He received a criminal citation to appear in the Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, Windsor Unit in White River Junction on June 10 at 12:30 p.m. Following his arrest, Call was transported to the Southern State Correctional Facility with a set bail of $500 cash or surety.
