RUPERT — Vermont State Police arrested a man on an outstanding warrant following a response to a false alarm on VT Route 315 on June 13.

Authorities were called to the scene at approximately 2:12 p.m. after an alarm was triggered.

The investigation determined the alarm to be false, with no serious issues detected at the property.

During the response, police identified Justin Lourie, 33, of Wells, as being present on the property.

Checks revealed that Lourie had an active in-state arrest warrant related to a previous Fish and Wildlife violation for possessing a loaded gun in a vehicle.

The warrant was issued after Lourie failed to appear in court to address the charge.

He was subsequently issued a citation and released with an order to appear before the Rutland County Superior Court – Criminal Division on June 14 at 12:30 p.m. to answer to the offense.
