Boston police identify victim in Edson Street homicide

BOSTON — Boston Police Department officials are investigating a homicide that occurred late Friday night after a woman was found with gunshot wounds on Edson Street.

At about 11:17 p.m., on May 31, officers from District B-3 in Mattapan responded to reports of a shooting at 36 Edson Street.

Upon arrival, they discovered an adult female victim suffering from life-threatening injuries.

She was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Pereshah Shear-Yashub from Taunton.

Detectives are actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident.
