1 min read

NEWFIELDS — Emergency services in Newfields had a hectic morning as they responded to two separate incidents just minutes apart.

At 9:36 a.m., Newfields Police, Newfields Fire Department, Newmarket Fire & Rescue, and Newmarket Police Department were dispatched to a motorcycle crash on Route 87 at Route 85.

The motorcycle operator lost control after sliding on wet paint and was subsequently transported to Exeter Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Shortly thereafter, at 10:02 a.m., the same emergency teams rushed to Lila Dr. where a contractor had struck a propane tank, causing a leak.

The propane company quickly arrived at the scene and remedied the leak without further incident.

The Newfields Police Department extended its gratitude to the Newmarket Police and Fire Departments for their assistance during the morning’s events.
