LOWELL — Increased patrols downtown by the Lowell Police Department resulted in the arrest of three juveniles on firearms charges yesterday, according to officials.
Officers from both the regular patrol and the Gang Unit collaborated to recover two firearms during their operations.
In a separate but related incident, a stolen moped was also recovered, leading to the arrest of one juvenile in connection with the theft.
The Lowell Police Department has been focusing on enhancing their presence in the downtown area to curb illegal activities and ensure public safety.
These arrests and recoveries are a testament to their ongoing efforts to address crime within the community.
The identities of the juveniles have not been released due to their age.
