PROVIDENCE — In a sweeping crackdown on drug trafficking and related offenses, law enforcement officers from multiple specialized units arrested three men on June 11 on a variety of charges, including possession with intent to distribute controlled substances and firearm offenses.
Bryan Jerez, 28, of Providence, was apprehended by a team comprising the Intelligence, Auto Theft and Gaming Enforcement Units, and the Violent Fugitive Task Force.
Jerez faces charges including possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, possession of marijuana, cocaine, and a firearm during a drug offense, and possessing large-capacity feeding devices.
He was processed at the State Police Headquarters and held without bail following his arraignment at the Sixth Division District Court.
On the same day, the HIDTA Task Force arrested Julio Colon, 22, also from Providence, on charges of possession with the intent to deliver fentanyl and cocaine.
Colon was processed at the Lincoln Barracks and ordered held without bail during his arraignment in the Sixth District Court.
Additionally, Joseph Amorim, 44, from Raynham, Massachusetts, was arrested by the Gaming Enforcement Unit for possession of less than 10 grams of MDMA.
Amorim was processed at the Lincoln Barracks and appeared in Third District Court before Associate Judge Joseph Houlihan Jr., who released him on $1,000 personal recognizance.
