NORWOOD — A suspect was taken into custody earlier today following an incident at a Mobil Gas Station where a firearm was displayed, later determined to be a BB gun, according to the Norwood Police Department.
The confrontation occurred uptown at the gas station, prompting a swift response from local law enforcement.
After securing the area, police were able to confirm that the weapon in question was a BB gun and not a live firearm.
Authorities have reported that all officers are now clear from the scene and have extended their thanks to the community for their cooperation during the incident.
In a separate ongoing situation, there is currently a police presence at the intersection of Washington Street and Railroad Ave.
While the police have assured that there is no immediate threat to public safety, they are advising residents to avoid the area to facilitate an ongoing investigation.
