CRANSTON — Troopers arrested a Cranston man Tuesday morning on a bench warrant for failing to appear in court on a domestic assault charge.
Richard Fratus, 36, of 9 Vermont Street, was taken into custody at 10:54 a.m. after a warrant check revealed he had missed a court date for a charge of domestic assault by strangulation, according to Rhode Island State Police.
The original charge against Fratus stemmed from an incident handled by the West Warwick Police Department.
Following his arrest at the Scituate Barracks, Fratus was processed at State Police Headquarters and later turned over to the Third District Court.
