MEDWAY — The Medway Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who stole several plants from Medway Community Farm on June 2.
According to authorities, the theft occurred despite clear signage indicating the presence of security cameras.
The suspect was recorded taking their time to select numerous plants, apparently fulfilling a list of items.
The theft, while not of high monetary value, has struck a chord with the local community, which values the farm for its contributions to food security.
Medway Community Farm is known for its support of those in need, participating in programs such as SNAP and HIP, and donating to local food pantries and shelters.
The organization also collaborates with community groups to provide healthy food options to families.
The police department expressed disappointment in the incident, noting that the farm would have likely assisted the individual had they reached out for help instead of resorting to theft.
Community members with any information about the individual or the theft are encouraged to contact the Medway Police Department.
