EAST HAVEN — A 59-year-old Lyndon woman was arrested Saturday after allegedly crashing her vehicle and fleeing the scene, Vermont State Police said.
At approximately 3:55 p.m., the VSP Derby Barracks received multiple 911 calls regarding a vehicle accident on VT-105 in Brighton, near the state airport.
The vehicle reportedly left the crash site heading west on VT-105 with significant damage.
Troopers dispatched to the area were guided by pedestrians and motorists to follow a gouge in the roadway that spanned across both lanes multiple times, leading them west on VT-105 and south on VT-114.
Authorities located the damaged vehicle several miles down VT-114, traveling on a rim with an activated airbag.
The driver, Jessica Neary, showed signs of impairment, according to police.
She was arrested and processed at the VSP-Derby Barracks before being released with a citation.
Neary is scheduled to appear in Essex Superior Court, Criminal Division, on June 4 to face charges of DUI – Subsequent Refusal and Negligent Operation.
Additional traffic citations for marked lanes violations and operating a vehicle with plates not assigned were also issued.
