MARSHFIELD — A local man was arrested and arraigned on a slew of charges including aggravated domestic assault and sexual assault, according to Vermont State Police.
Calvin Lamphere, 57, was taken into custody following an investigation into a domestic disturbance reported on May 25.
The Washington County Special Investigations Unit referred the case after determining the serious nature of the allegations.
Lamphere is accused of 1st Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault, Sexual Assault, Interference with Access to Emergency Services, Violation of Conditions of Release, Violation of an Abuse Prevention Order, and Animal Cruelty.
The Vermont State Police have not disclosed the identity of the victim in accordance with privacy policies for victims of sexual assault and domestic violence.
Investigators established probable cause for Lamphere’s arrest, and he was subsequently apprehended with the assistance of the Barre District Office of Probation and Parole.
He was arrested on May 30 for a Violation of Probation.
Lamphere was arraigned on May 31 in the Barre District Court, where he was held without bail pending further legal proceedings.
