PROVIDENCE — Multiple arrests were made by Rhode Island law enforcement task forces on May 30, marking a significant clampdown on drug distribution, financial fraud, and violent crimes in the area.
The Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force apprehended 59-year-old Gerald Scott from North Providence on a Superior Court Full Bench Warrant for First-Degree Child Molestation, originating from the Providence Police Department.
Following his arrest, Scott was immediately taken to Superior Court for arraignment procedures.
In a separate incident on the same day, the task force also arrested Michael Williams, 34, of North Providence, fulfilling three Affidavit and Arrest Warrants.
Williams faces charges of Domestic Assault, Domestic Breaking/Entering, and Domestic Burglary, all set forth by the Pawtucket Police Department.
He was handed over directly to Pawtucket authorities.
The High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force conducted its own operations, leading to the arrests of Ricardo Hiraldo, 23, and Yoniel Perez, 26, both residents of Johnston.
Hiraldo faces charges for his intent to deliver Schedule II Controlled Substances, namely Fentanyl and Cocaine, as well as Controlled Substance Conspiracy and Bank Fraud as per an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant from the State Police Financial Crimes Unit.
Perez was detained on similar drug-related charges excluding the bank fraud allegation.
Both individuals were processed at the Lincoln Barracks and received special arraignments by a Justice of the Peace before being transferred to the ACI Intake Center to await their morning arraignments in the Third Division District Court.
