COHASSET — Numerous 9-1-1 calls were received reporting a serious crash with injuries at the intersection of Route 3A and Lower King Street today at 9:00 a.m. during a torrential rainfall.
Responding officers determined that the driver of a 2019 Audi SUV was traveling south on 3A and attempted to turn left onto Lower King Street from 3A.
In making that turn, the Audi driver cut in front of a 2023 Toyota SUV operating north on 3A.
A 75-year-old female sustained injuries in the crash and was transported to South Shore Hospital by ambulance.
The other driver was shaken but uninjured.
Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene, and the operator of the Audi was cited for failure to yield to oncoming traffic.
This crash impacted commuter traffic for over 45 minutes while emergency crews worked the scene.
