Providence woman arrested on shoplifting warrant after traffic stop

WARWICK — A 57-year-old Providence woman was arrested early Wednesday morning on a warrant for shoplifting after Rhode Island State Troopers conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 in Warwick.

Julie Tremmel, of 12 Messenger Street, was taken into custody at 6:07 a.m. following the stop.

The arrest warrant originated from the Warwick Police Department, according to state police.

After the stop, Tremmel was transported to the Wickford Barracks for processing.

She was later turned over to the Warwick Police Department to face charges.

Captain Jeffrey P. L’heureux, District “B” Commander of the Rhode Island State Police, confirmed the arrest and provided details on the incident.
