South Windsor man arrested for Sullivan Tire burglary

SOUTH WINDSOR — Police arrested a North Branford man Tuesday in connection with a burglary that occurred on New Year’s Eve at Sullivan Tire.

John Chaski, 55, was charged with third-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny after DNA evidence linked him to the crime scene at 681 John Fitch Boulevard, where $150 in cash was reported stolen.

Chaski was taken into custody at 11:38 a.m. and processed at Manchester Superior Court, where he appeared yesterday on charges from other jurisdictions.

In a separate incident, South Windsor Police also arrested David R.

Waite, 73, of South Windsor, following a domestic violence report.

Waite allegedly interfered with an emergency call, damaged property, assaulted the victim, and made threats during the incident.

He was arrested at 2:17 p.m., charged with second-degree criminal mischief, interfering with an emergency call, third-degree assault, and second-degree threatening.

Waite was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court today at 9 a.m.
