NEW MILFORD — A local man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison, with 18 years of incarceration and 20 years of probation, after pleading guilty to charges related to child pornography.
Michael J. Almeida was found to have child pornography on his devices following an investigation that began with a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce on July 7.
The New Milford Police Department executed several search and seizure warrants, uncovering evidence that led to Almeida’s arrest.
Further investigation revealed the involvement of another individual and a minor.
Almeida pleaded guilty to two counts of Possessing Child Pornography in the First Degree and two counts of Accessory to Employing a Minor in Obscene Performance.
On May 9, Almeida received his sentence.
