BOSTON — Officers from the Boston Police Department’s District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested three individuals, including two juveniles, on Monday morning after a firearm was found during a park cleanup.
At approximately 9:43 a.m., police responded to a report of a discovered firearm at a park located at 30 Mt Pleasant Ave.
A detail officer was notified of the weapon found by a community member.
As officers headed to the scene, they learned the suspect had returned to the park to retrieve the firearm.
Upon arrival, officers engaged in a brief foot chase and apprehended Jamuan Terrell Coakley-Thomason, 22, from Charlestown, along with a 14-year-old and a 13-year-old juvenile male.
A frisk of the 13-year-old suspect revealed a black Glock 34 with 10 rounds in the magazine, capable of holding up to 30 rounds, inside his backpack.
During the booking process, officers also discovered crack cocaine, which they determined belonged to Coakley-Thomason.
The 13-year-old juvenile male faces charges including unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device.
The 14-year-old male was charged with trespassing.
Coakley-Thomason faces charges related to possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute.
The arraignment for Coakley-Thomason is set for Roxbury District Court, while the juveniles are to be arraigned at Boston Juvenile Court.
