SHREWSBURY — Shrewsbury Police Department reported two separate incidents involving threats with firearms on May 14, leading to the arrest of two men.
The first call came in at about 10:29 a.m., when police were alerted to a man who had brandished a firearm during a dispute with a co-worker at 19 Boston Turnpike.
The suspect fled the scene, prompting a Be-On-The-Lookout alert to be issued.
Auburn Police located the vehicle and the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Bradley Hyde of Worcester, at 2:29 p.m. Hyde was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.
Less than an hour later, at around 11:24 a.m., Sergeant Abbascia, while on detail at White City Shopping Plaza, was informed by a motorist of a road rage incident in which a male had pointed a firearm at him.
Sgt. Abbascia broadcasted the suspect’s vehicle description, and Officer Brandon Bourette subsequently spotted the vehicle on Boston Turnpike (Rt.9) traveling eastbound.
After a traffic stop past Cherry Street, a black 9mm Smith and Wesson Shield-style firearm was found within the driver’s reach.
The driver, Michael Wright, 46, of Lunenburg, was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.
The Shrewsbury Police Department’s Detective Bureau is assisting with the ongoing investigation of both incidents.
