HUNTINGTON — A Vermont State Police investigation led to the arrest of a Fletcher man late Thursday night after he allegedly fired a shot at a Huntington home and later advanced on the residence.
Lucas Gingras, 38, was detained by troopers responding to a report of a potential shooting on Main Road at about 9:21 p.m.
Authorities say Gingras had earlier pointed a rifle at a man inside the home, then left and fired a round at the house, which was occupied by a woman and a juvenile.
After fleeing the scene in a white Grand Marquis, Gingras reportedly returned and began to advance on the house.
Troopers found him in the vehicle, which contained a loaded muzzleloader and a crossbow.
Gingras was taken to the Williston Barracks for processing and subsequently transported to Northwest Correctional Facility, where he is being held without bail.
He faces charges of aggravated assault, aggravated disorderly conduct, and reckless endangerment.
He is scheduled for arraignment in Vermont Superior Court – Chittenden Criminal Division on May 13 at 8:30 a.m.
