DARTMOUTH — A joint operation led by the Dartmouth Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police culminated in the arrest of a New Bedford man on a slew of drug-related charges.
Shawn Pontes, 41, was taken into custody Thursday morning following the execution of an arrest warrant at his Hillman Street residence, according to Dartmouth police.
The arrest was the result of a month-long investigation into suspected drug distribution activities at the location.
A prior search on April 26 uncovered significant quantities of various drugs, including suspected powder and crack cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, and prescription pills, as well as drug paraphernalia.
Pontes now faces multiple charges including trafficking fentanyl and cocaine, possession and distribution of Class B substances, and intent to distribute methamphetamine.
