MANCHESTER — An investigation by the Manchester Police Anti-Crime Unit into illegal firearms possession and drug sales erupted into chaos when officers were confronted by an unruly crowd, leading to multiple arrests on May 9.
At about 3:30 p.m., officers executing a search warrant at a residence on 139 Parker Street were met by a large group of adults and juveniles as they attempted to leave the building.
The crowd became hostile, antagonizing the officers and obstructing their efforts to secure evidence into police vehicles.
The situation escalated when one officer was physically assaulted by several individuals, prompting the police to make several arrests at the scene.
Elida Perez-Peco, 39, of Manchester, was charged with obstruction of government administration, felony riot, and simple assault for her involvement in the incident.
Jorge Ortega, 18, also from Manchester, faces charges including felonious use of a firearm, sale of a controlled drug, possession of marijuana, disorderly conduct, felony riot, and resisting arrest.
A 17-year-old was arrested and charged with obstruction of government administration, felony riot, simple assault, and resisting arrest in connection with the altercation.
The Manchester Police Department is continuing its investigation into the incident.
