PROVIDENCE — Multiple arrests were made on May 6 as law enforcement agencies in Rhode Island cracked down on internet crimes and parole violations.
Pablo Gonzalez De Leon, 56, of Providence, was taken into custody on a parole violation warrant related to an original charge of dangerous drugs.
Members of the Gaming Enforcement Unit, the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force, the Computer Crimes Unit, and the Uniform Division collaborated in the arrest.
De Leon was processed at police headquarters and subsequently transported to the Adult Correctional Institutions Intake Service Center.
In a separate incident, Jimmy Rivas, 53, also of Providence, was arrested by the Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force for indecent solicitation of a child.
Rivas was processed at the Wickford Barracks and appeared in Third District Court before Judge Houlihan.
The judge set bail at $2,500 with surety, imposing special conditions, including restricted internet access and a ban on unsupervised contact with minors.
Additionally, the same task force arrested Dennis Giguere, 53, of Woonsocket, on charges of possession of child pornography.
Giguere was processed at police headquarters, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released on $10,000 personal recognizance while awaiting a future court date in the Third District Court.
