READSBORO — Vermont State Police announced early Tuesday that Johanne Thayer, the 61-year-old Readsboro woman reported missing on Monday evening, has been located safely.
Thayer was last seen leaving her residence at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Monday and was spotted in Wilmington around 10 a.m. that same day.
Concerns for her welfare were raised after she was reported missing, prompting an immediate search.
Thayer was driving a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe with the Vermont registration GGH523.
After an extensive search and outreach effort, Thayer was found in good health.
The Vermont State Police Shaftsbury Barracks, who received the missing person report at 11:13 p.m. on Monday, coordinated the response efforts.
Authorities had earlier urged the public to assist by sharing any information that could lead to Thayer’s location.
The Vermont State Police have expressed their gratitude to those who contributed to the successful resolution of this incident.
