COLCHESTER — A fatal collision involving a pedestrian on Interstate 89 northbound at mile marker 92 has prompted an investigation by the Vermont State Police, officials said Tuesday night.
The crash, which occurred just before 9 p.m., is being examined by the VSP Crash Reconstruction Team, which is assisting local units from the Waterbury barracks.
While details of the incident have not yet been released, authorities have confirmed one lane of the interstate remains open to traffic.
Captain Debra Munson, Special Operations Commander, urged motorists to find alternative travel routes if possible.
The investigation is active and ongoing, with further information expected to be released as it becomes available.
