HOLBROOK — An alleged drug dealer was taken into custody by local authorities over the weekend after a report of a suspicious event led to a search warrant and subsequent seizure of firearms, drugs, and cash, Holbrook Police Chief William Smith announced.

Officers responded to a call on Longmeadow Drive where they apprehended 28-year-old Rashad Knight-Simon, a Holbrook resident known to law enforcement.

The initial report suggested Knight-Simon had brandished a firearm at another individual.

A search of Knight-Simon’s residence, authorized by a warrant, uncovered 30 rounds of .556 rifle ammunition, a large quantity of narcotics including 400 grams of cocaine, 1200 grams of marijuana, pressed pills confirmed to be fentanyl, several scales, and $32,000 in cash believed to be proceeds from drug sales.

Knight-Simon faces multiple charges, including assault with a dangerous weapon, trafficking a Class B substance, possession of a Class A substance, possession of a Class D substance with intent to distribute, and possession of ammunition without an FID card.

Held for arraignment at Quincy District Court on Monday, Knight-Simon’s arrest underscores the police department’s commitment to combatting drug-related crime.

“While these are merely allegations, and the suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty, we stand firm in our resolve against the scourge of narcotics in our community,” Chief Smith stated, commending the diligent efforts of the responding officers.
