MONTVILLE — A white Mercedes with an unknown temporary registration is being sought by the Montville Police Department after its driver led officers on a dangerous chase on May 4.
At around 6:02 p.m., officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on I-395 northbound, just north of exit 9, when the vehicle began driving erratically.
In an effort to escape, the driver turned the Mercedes around, heading south in the northbound lanes, directly into oncoming traffic.
Continuing the perilous evasion, the vehicle exited I-395 and proceeded to travel in the wrong direction on RT 2a.
The Montville Police Department is urging anyone with information regarding the vehicle or its operator to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
