HAMDEN — A pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle late Saturday night, resulting in serious injuries and temporary road closures.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene near 2320 Dixwell Avenue at approximately 10:57 p.m. after receiving reports of the incident.
The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was found unconscious and was quickly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Dixwell Avenue, which had been closed following the accident to allow for emergency services and investigation, has since been reopened to all traffic.
The condition of the victim remains serious, and further details about the cause of the accident have not been disclosed.
