Worcester man arrested for outstanding warrant, illegal firearm possession

WORCESTER — Worcester Police officers arrested a man wanted on an active firearms-related warrant and for possession of an illegal firearm Wednesday afternoon.

At approximately 12:50 p.m., police located 42-year-old Kyle Kelley on lower Pleasant St as they were actively searching for him due to an outstanding warrant.

Kelley was spotted inside a neighborhood store, and when approached by the officers, he was informed he was under arrest.

As he attempted to walk away, officers detained Kelley and discovered what appeared to be a loaded handgun in his possession.

Kelley, who does not possess a firearm license, was arrested for the warrant and now faces additional charges.

These charges include Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony, Unlawfully Carrying a Loaded Firearm, and Armed Career Criminal Level 3.

The Worcester Police Department continues its investigation into the incident and Kelley’s activities related to the charges.
