CLAREMONT — Four individuals were arrested in a major drug operation on May 2 after months of investigation by the Claremont Police Department and the NH Attorney General’s Drug Task Force.
Authorities executed two search warrants at a residence located at 256 Main Street, where they discovered a significant quantity of suspected crack cocaine and U.S. currency.
The operation led to the arrest of Cherrie Bennett, 52, Curtis Mackey, 50, Brian Pillsbury, 53, and Nicholas Santana, 33, all facing various drug-related charges.
Bennett, a Claremont resident, was charged with four counts of the sale of controlled drugs.
Mackey, from New Britain, CT, faces two counts of the sale of controlled drugs, three counts of conspiracy to commit sale of controlled drugs, and possession of controlled drugs with intent to distribute.
Pillsbury, another Claremont local, was charged with three counts of the sale of controlled drugs and had an arrest on warrant.
Santana, also from Claremont, was taken into custody for a violation of conditions of probation/parole.
Mackey, Pillsbury, and Santana were detained at the Sullivan County House of Corrections pending their arraignment in the 5th Circuit Court, Claremont District, today.
Bennett was released on personal recognizance bail and will be arraigned at a later date.
The Claremont Police Department stated that this operation significantly impacts the narcotics trade in the city and pledged continued efforts to disrupt the distribution of dangerous drugs.
With the assistance of the NH Attorney General’s Drug Task Force, the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, and the New London Police Department, more arrests are anticipated from the information gathered during this operation.
