KENT COUNTY — A large disturbance call at a residence on Mapledale Street led Coventry Police to a stabbing investigation involving multiple individuals, officials said Tuesday.
Responding to the incident at 48 Mapledale St. on May 1, officers from the Coventry Police Department’s Uniformed Patrol Division were met with a chaotic scene.
Some individuals implicated in the disturbance had already fled upon the authorities’ arrival.
It was established that the melee involved two distinct groups of males and resulted in injuries from sharp-edged weapons.
The department’s Detective Division took over the investigation at the scene.
One of the subjects involved was transported to the hospital on the night of the incident.
Another was found the following morning on May 2 and was also taken to the hospital by rescue services.
Both individuals suffered stab wounds, which authorities reported as non-life threatening.
A third person involved received minor injuries and was treated on-site by rescue personnel.
As of now, the investigation remains active.
Coventry detectives are in the process of interviewing those involved and examining evidence to determine the appropriate charges.
