Sturbridge police investigate untimely death at Mill Yard

STURBRIDGE — Local law enforcement and emergency crews responded to a report of an untimely death at the Mill Yard area Monday afternoon, officials said.

At approximately 2:17 p.m., Sturbridge Police Department officers, along with Sturbridge Fire personnel and State Police, arrived at 559 Main Street to find a male subject pronounced dead at the scene.

Chief Dessert assured the community that there is no public threat, though a significant police presence will remain on-site to ensure the privacy of the individual’s family.

Authorities are awaiting the arrival of the Medical Examiner’s Office and State Police Detectives to further investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.
