SOMERVILLE — A series of assaults and property crimes have unfolded in Somerville over the past week, with police responding to multiple incidents involving physical confrontations and break-and-enters, according to the Somerville Police Department reports.
In the early hours of April 29, at around 12:30 a.m., officers were called to a business on Sanborn Court after a fight broke out.
A victim suffered an eye injury after being punched in the face during an argument inside the establishment.
The suspect, a male party, was identified by the police.
On the evening of April 26, another assault occurred around 8:06 p.m. at a business on Washington Street.
A female victim reported being thrown to the ground by a male assailant.
Earlier that same day, at approximately 7:10 p.m., officers responded to an incident at 88 Broadway where a woman was attacked on the sidewalk.
She reported that another female approached her, grabbed her hair, and threw her to the ground.
The suspect was identified by authorities.
Property crimes also plagued the city with several breaking and entering incidents reported.
On April 26, around 12:56 a.m., police investigated a case of vandalism on Innerbelt Road after an unknown male entered a property’s garage; however, no items were reported missing.
Residential break-ins were also reported, with a ping pong table being stolen from a garage on Winslow Avenue on the night of April 24.
Police were called to the scene around 10:45 p.m. Another incident was reported on Edgar Court on April 23, where a bicycle was stolen from an enclosed porch at approximately 11:40 p.m.
In addition to these incidents, the police department noted they are investigating three package thefts, seven car break-ins, one motor vehicle vandalism, three bike thefts, and one case of vandalism.
Somerville Police are currently investigating all reported incidents and urge residents to come forward with any information that could assist in the investigations.
