WEST HAVEN — West Haven Police Department officers took one person into custody Saturday evening after a confrontation at a Citgo gas station on Elm Street.
According to authorities, the incident occurred around 7:45 p.m. when police were searching the individual’s vehicle.
The suspect attempted to flee the scene on foot, leading to a pursuit.
The chase ended in the area of Center and Campbell streets where the suspect was tased by the police.
West Haven Fire Department personnel were called to the scene to evaluate the suspect’s injuries.
Further details about the suspect’s condition or the reasons behind the vehicle search have not been released.
