MONTVILLE — Montville Police Department officials praised the community’s swift action in identifying a female suspect involved in a theft case at a local Stop & Shop.
Within an hour of posting a surveillance photo on social media, the department received multiple tips from the public, leading to the identification of the woman, who also reached out to the authorities herself.
The incident occurred on April 29, when two individuals reportedly stole approximately $200 worth of energy drinks and meat from the grocery store.
The female suspect had also been recognized by staff at a Norwich Stop & Shop for similar thefts, with surveillance images from that location also provided.
While the female suspect’s identity is now known to law enforcement, the Montville Police Department continues efforts to identify the male involved in the incident.
The department encourages the community to keep sharing the information and has reiterated the importance of public assistance in solving crimes.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the male suspect to contact the Montville Police Department at 860-848-7510.
The investigation remains ongoing as officials work to apprehend both individuals involved in the theft.
