BENNINGTON — A Brooklyn man was cited for driving nearly twice the speed limit on Route 279 early Tuesday morning, Vermont State Police said.
Matthew F. Ryvkin, 19, was clocked at 102 mph in a 55 mph zone at 12:54 a.m. by troopers conducting speed enforcement in the area.
A traffic stop revealed Ryvkin as the driver of the speeding vehicle.
Ryvkin is ordered to appear in Vermont Superior Court Bennington Criminal Division on June 10 at 8:15 a.m.
In addition to the court date, he has received a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint, incurring a fine of $696 and an assessment of 2 points against his driver’s license.
