ASHLAND — A stolen Lexus that had eluded local law enforcement in several Massachusetts towns was recovered today after a high-speed pursuit by the Massachusetts State Police (MSP) Air Wing and K9 Units.
At 2 p.m., MSP Air 5 spotted the stolen vehicle, previously taken from Peabody, traveling west on Rt. 9 through Southborough and Westborough and then onto Rt. 495 Northbound.
State Police cruisers were dispatched to the area in response.
By 2:08 p.m., the 2002 Lexus IS was reported passing Rt. 290.
The driver then took an abrupt turn onto Rt 117 in Bolton, reversing direction before re-entering Rt 495 southbound.
MSP K9 Unit cruisers located and pursued the vehicle, which had by then entered MSP Troop C’s jurisdiction.
During the chase, the Lexus transitioned onto Rt. 290 west in Marlborough.
Troopers deployed stop sticks between Solomon Pond Rd in Marlborough and Green St. in Northborough, successfully disabling the vehicle.
The Lexus collided with another car and came to a stop in the median strip.
No injuries were reported from the occupants of the other vehicle.
The three occupants of the stolen Lexus were apprehended at the scene.
Two were transported to UMass Medical Center with minor injuries, while a juvenile was taken to the State Police-Leominster Barracks for booking.
Investigation also revealed the vehicle was involved in a prior accident on the ramp from Rt. 495 S to Rt. 290 W in Marlborough.
Charges are pending and will be announced following further investigation.
