BOSTON — Boston police arrested a 26-year-old man on firearm-related charges after recovering a loaded gun with an extended magazine during a traffic stop in Dorchester late Friday night.
At about 10:18 p.m., on April 19, officers from the Youth Violence Strike Force pulled over a vehicle speeding along Washington Street and Erie Street.
The driver, identified as Tynigel Belgrave of Boston, was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt.
During the stop, officers said they saw the grip of a firearm in plain view.
After asking the occupants to exit the vehicle, a pat frisk led to the discovery of a Glock 26 with one round in the chamber and 21 rounds in an extended magazine.
The second occupant of the vehicle was released from the scene after an investigation.
Belgrave faces charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device.
He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
