ROCHESTER — A motor vehicle crash early Sunday morning led to the arrest of a middle-aged man on charges of operating under the influence (OUI) and other offenses, according to the Rochester Police Department.
At 12:02 a.m. on April 14, Officers Robinson and Bumpus were dispatched to 78 Vaughan Hill Road following reports of a crash.
Upon their arrival, they found a pickup truck off the roadway, with its front driver’s side tire suspended in the air after becoming stuck in a storm culvert ditch.
The operator, a middle-aged white male, was uninjured but was evaluated on the scene by the Rochester Fire Department.
A subsequent roadside investigation by the officers resulted in the determination that the man was driving under the influence of alcohol.
He was taken into custody and transported to the police station for booking.
The operator was later released on bail and faced arraignment at Wareham District Court on April 16.
